The Tasting Room Gets A Name

The Tasting Room Gets A Name

Meet...Broderick. Broderick & Company is a Denver-based distillery you may not be familiar with by name, but our brand, Uncle Tim’s Cocktails has been around for 3 years now. You’ve probably run into us at South Pearl or City Park Farmer’s Markets, the Cherry Creek Holiday Market, seen us at your neighborhood liquor store around Denver, or attended one of our dozens of events from Salon Dinners, Sofar Sounds, Don’t Tell Comedy, Levitt Pavillion, Denver Art Museum, or the Kirkland Museum.

When we acquired a new space on South Gaylord Street in Wash Park (the former Bottle Shop 33), we knew we wanted this space to serve more than just cocktails, so the name, Broderick, felt more appropriate. Think cocktail lounge meets coffee shop with a newly expanded food menu. With plush couches and warm lighting, it gives cozy living room vibes. Broderick is the kind of place where you’d host a birthday party, have a company happy hour, or bring a date. Yes, we will still host music, comedy, and community dinner events.

Co-founder “Uncle” Tim Felkner describes the new space as “exactly what South Gaylord needs, a place to grab a drink before or after dinner at one of the great restaurants on this block, or host a work meeting during the day. We pride ourselves on creating delicious and comfortable experiences where people can connect.” Broderick is inspired by the cafes and bars that have become neighborhood staples, serving the community as a gathering space. Going beyond the menu, the soul and intention of Broderick comes from the relationships we have created so far through Uncle Tim's Cocktails, and will be the home that you can always feel welcomed to.

The name Broderick was inspired by the street in San Francisco where both co-owners met and lived for over a decade. Patrick Stern, the other co-founder puts it this way. “Our flat on Broderick was the quintessential gathering place for our friends. We would host dinners, brunches, and birthdays there. This was THE gathering place for our friend group for a long time, and our goal is to create a space that feels like someone’s home. We hope you love it as much as we do.”

In addition to some of the Uncle Tim’s Cocktails favorites: negronis, manhattans, and old fashioned, the menu will have new favorites, seasonal cocktails, an extensive mocktail menu, coffee, pastries, and bites such as charcuterie, cheese, and sandwiches from Gino Panino, another local favorite from Rebel Bread

We pride ourselves on working with other local makers from Sati Coffee, The Boozy Botanist, Yummy Lotus Jams, and MOR Kombucha, to name a few. Additionally, our cocktails feature local spirits from Denver Distillery, State 38, CapRock, and more.

We can’t wait to open in the late spring/early summer of 2025, and share Broderick with you. We are currently under construction.  If you’d like to stay informed about our opening, please join our email list and/or follow us on Instagram.

Or send us a note if you’d like to be more involved. We are looking to partner with businesses and individuals in the neighborhood and the greater Denver area. You can email tim@uncletimscocktails.com, or follow one of the links below.
